According to data from the IBGE, approximately 94.1% of Brazilian households have access to the internet, making it increasingly easier for children and adolescents to register in this increasingly early digital environment. There are guidelines in place on social networks that require profiles of children under 13 years of age to be managed by their parents, but it is still possible to find profiles of children without proper supervision. That is why Meta, the group that manages most of the current social networks, has new guidelines for the year 2025, which will make it the safest and least harmful environment for children and adolescents under 17 years of age. With easy access to the internet, this age group is exposed to several consequences such as cyberbullying, scams, kidnappings, being attracted to child pornography, and more. Therefore, according to Brazilian law, parents or guardians of these children and adolescents are held responsible for the high level of harm to child and adolescent development, as well as any civil and criminal consequences that may arise. Therefore, it is extremely important that parents educate their children to ensure their safety in a supervised digital environment. This is a descriptive and quantitative study, and is a literature review of several databases. Throughout the research, it can be concluded that children and adolescents are exposed to the digital environment, or are exposing themselves to it, by their guardians or even by themselves, when they are in adolescence without adequate supervision in the digital environment.
